Bring Your Work Here

The Whidbey Institute hosts one-day and multi-day programs, workshops, retreats, conferences, and strategic planning sessions.

We welcome program inquiries, particularly from BIPOC led, youth groups, and environmental conservation organizations that align with our commitment to racial equity, transformative change, embodied leadership, climate action, and self-organization. We hope this supports program leaders in finding a long-term home for purpose-aligned work at the Whidbey Institute.

The Program Inquiry Form, linked below, is the first step in starting a conversation with us about available dates, rates, facilities, site tours, and other details related to hosting your program at the Whidbey Institute. To explore our onsite facilities and land, please see our Visit page for a virtual tour.

We encourage you to be as specific as possible when completing the Program Inquiry Form, even if your plans are still taking shape.

Please note that we require a two-night minimum for all retreats. Meal service is required for groups of 16 or more. For groups of fewer than 16, meal service is available when paired with another group.

Full Campus - Accommodates up to 42 overnight guests and includes two meeting spaces.

Partial Campus - Designed for smaller groups that meet our 16-person minimum and includes one meeting space. Smaller groups may be scheduled alongside another group during the same timeframe.

For groups that do not meet the 16-person minimum, it may be possible to pair with a larger group to help offset the minimum requirement.

Closed Campus bookings are available for an additional fee. This fee may be waived for groups that serve traditionally underserved communities.

Applications are considered by program fit, not by date received. We strive to respond to inquiries within one month or sooner if at all possible.

After submitting the Program Inquiry Form for review by our Program Development Team, and if deemed a good fit, we will look at scheduling inquiries for dates 6-12+ months in advance. Dates within shorter timeframes may be considered if space is available. We also maintain a wait list for those interested in booking space that may become available due to cancellations or other changes.

If you are interested in bringing your program to the Institute, we encourage you to submit your inquiry now for the available dates. It can also be helpful to look at our Rate Sheet (2026)when determining if the Whidbey Institute is a good fit for your program or organization.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Please note: The Whidbey Institute does not offer lodging, meeting, or event space for personal stays unrelated to programs taking place onsite.

Thank you for your interest in bringing your work to the Whidbey Institute.

"What a special place, and what special foods. The land breathes with ease and the trees welcome you in with such calm. Thank you Thank you Thank you. Beautiful.
My safe haven."

- 2025 Program Participant

“This experience gave our group of senior leaders something rare and deeply needed: time, quiet, permission to slow down, and—most importantly— connection. The setting, care, and intention you welcomed us with allowed us to be fully present and engage in honest, thoughtful conversations—both with ourselves and with one another.”

David is the program leader, and his work, combined with the environment at Whidbey, began meaningful reflection that I hope will continue to shape how we lead. We left feeling more grounded, aligned, and open to inviting new kinds of conversations in our work. "
