The Whidbey Institute hosts one-day and multi-day programs, workshops, retreats, conferences, and strategic planning sessions.

We are now accepting 2026 program applications.

We welcome program inquiries, particularly from BIPOC led, youth groups and environmental conservation organizations, that align with our commitment to racial equity, transformative change, embodied leadership, climate action, and self-organization. We hope this supports program leaders in finding a long-term home for purpose-aligned work at the Whidbey Institute. 

Partial Campus events offer space for smaller groups below our 16-person minimum. Groups will share the campus with another group, including meal service. Meeting spaces are available for an additional fee.

Full Campus events offer lodging for up to 42 guests with meal service and one meeting space at no additional cost.

The Program Inquiry Form is the first step towards a conversation with us about available dates, rates, facilities, tours, and other aspects of bringing your work to the Whidbey Institute. For a website tour of our onsite facilities and land, see our Visit page.

Please be as specific as possible in your Program Inquiry Form, though your plans may still be in formation.

Please note, we require a two night minimum for all retreats. Meals service is required for groups of 16 or more. For groups less than 16, meal service is available when paired with another group.

Applications are considered by program fit, not by date received. We strive to respond to inquiries within one month or sooner if at all possible. 

After submitting the Program Inquiry Form for review by our Program Development Team and if deemed a good fit, we will look at scheduling inquiries for dates 6-12+ months in advance. Dates within shorter timeframes may be considered if space is available. We also maintain a wait list for those interested in booking space that may become available due to cancellations or other changes.
