Accommodations

Drift off to sleep in a cozy forested setting, in a 19th century farmhouse under a comfy quilt and wake to morning birdsong and fresh country air!

Our overnight accommodations for up to 28 people include the restored Farmhouse, Granny's, and four personal retreat cabins in the forest. Tent camping is also available.

Houses

Our two large houses are perfect for hosting meetings and accommodating up to 28 guests.

Our fully restored, late 19th century Farmhouse is used for both overnight accommodations and daytime meetings. The relaxed and casual living room, featuring hearth and large woodstove, comfortable chairs and couches, A/V equipment, and picturesque windows, is a favorite among small groups of up to 20 participants. Bedrooms (7) and shared baths (2) are located on the second floor. Other features include a large country kitchen, covered porch, expansive outside deck and two meditation lofts.

This is country charm at its best.

Granny's, a short walking distance from the center of Chinook, provides accommodations and meeting space for 13. It was moved to Chinook in its early years and offers a rustic country charm. It has two bedrooms and one full bath on the second floor, and three bedrooms and 3/4 bath on the first floor.

With a wood-burning stove, full kitchen, and dining space located on the first floor, it is perfect for more informal meetings or breakout groups.

Cabins

There are four personal retreat cabins conveniently located in the forest near Madrona Meadow. Showers, restrooms, and an outdoor kitchen are provided in a separate building, the Garbanzo, a stones throw away.

Bagend - the name is a nod to Bilbo and Frodo's abode in J.R.R. Tolkein's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings - is the largest cabin at the Whidbey Institute.

This cabin offers two single beds, a small wood stove and a meditation loft.
Hermitage, a quaint, small but comfortably rustic cabin, is furnished with a double bed, bedside table, and a rocker.
Heron, a small but comfortably rustic cabin, is furnished with a single bed, bedside table and a rattan chair. This cabin has a beautiful view of the meadow.
